Getting ready for Christmas

We moved into our house 17 years ago today!

Since we homeschool and don't have to wake up early in the morning, we have been visiting the temple lights multiple times and at 9:00 pm when the crowd is gone. It has been so fun! But apparently we aren't always reverent. 

These are pictures of the train display that our family likes to tour in December. The owner's of Tia Rosa's restaurant open their backyard to the public to see their massive collection. This is the last year of this tradition since they are selling their home soon.

And I think a new tradition may have been born! Emily read online about the Phoenix Light Parade and called me on a Saturday to see if we wanted to go with them. Apparently this has been a Phoenix tradition for 30 years but Greg and I had never heard of it! We took sub sandwiches, chairs and snacks to share and found a spot along the parade route. My kids were dressed in shorts and Emily and her kids had snow bibs on. No joke. It was a fun time and all of the floats were decked out in Christmas lights.
